She is currently a co-host of E!’s show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. McCafferty played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Dallas Stars and the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League (NHL). She also played for HC Baník Ostrava in the Czech Extraliga and for Team Canada in the 1998 Winter Olympics, where she won a silver medal. On June 26, 2010, McCafferty announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would take a hiatus from hockey to undergo treatment.
